RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR AND APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

The Board of Proteome Sciences announces that Dr. Peter Schulz-Knappe will be leaving Proteome Sciences R&D GmbH & Co. KG on 31st December 2009 in order to be based more closely to his family, at which point he will resign as a director from the Company. The directors would like to thank Dr. Schulz-Knappe for his considerable contribution to the Company's progress and wish him every success in the future.

The Company is pleased to announce that Dr. Ian Pike has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Company and its subsidiaries and that Dr. Hans-Dieter Zucht has been appointed as Chief Technical Officer of Proteome Sciences R&D GmbH Co. KG in Frankfurt. Neither of these are appointments to the board of Proteome Sciences.
